Highway Expansion Analysis
XenomatiX digitized 50 km stretch of a regional highway providing, point clouds, 3D models, and preliminary analyses to support potential expansion such as rush-hour or third lane.
XenomatiX equipped a standard passenger vehicle with the GPC360 LiDAR system to capture both lanes of a highway in both directions. Within just a few hours of driving—and without any road closures—it generated 3D, earth-referenced models.
Results:
- 3D models of the entire route in a format that can be loaded into software for visualization and analysis of point clouds.
- For each bridge, a separate point cloud that represents a 3D model of that bridge (together with the underlying road). This allows you to analyze the situation on each bridge very efficiently
- For each exit complex, a separate point cloud that allows the local situation to be analysed very efficiently.
Advantages:
- Non-disruptive measurement without traffic interruption.
- Higher accuracy than manual surveys.
- Digitization of bridge interiors, precise pillar distances, clear heights, and barriers.
- Fully objective, automated, and shareable data.
- Detailed 3D models allow offline analysis without revisiting the site.
