We are looking for an Application Engineer. The person we are looking for is someone who wants more than just a desk job. As an Application Engineer you will have a role with a lot of variety. You will work hands-on with cutting-edge lidar sensors, support customers worldwide, and become a key technical expert. You will be in direct contact with the customer and thanks to your communicative skills, technical know-how and experience with the sensors, you will help customers maximizing their results.

What you’ll do:

  • After a training phase, you will mount and test optical-mechanical sensor setups, to simulate customer use-cases.
  • These setups will be rebuild at customers to give a demonstration of the product solutions and to train the customers all over the world.
  • After training the customers at their site, you will be their main contact to answer their questions and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • You will be executing measurement services with sensor setups mounted on cars. Typically these will be road surveying services.
  • You will give demonstrations to visiting potential customers and convince them of the capabilities of XenomatiX’ lidar solutions.
  • During development of new products, you will have an important role. With your findings and feedback during testing and validating the prototypes, the hardware and software team will optimize the product specifications and eliminate bugs.

What you need:

  • You have a Master’s degree in applied science or physics.
  • You have a class B driving license.
  • You are willing to travel (up to 25% of the time).
  • You have basic programming experience (e.g., Matlab, Python or similar)
  • You have basic understanding of networking and different protocols.
  • You are hands-on, since you will be mounting simple optical-mechanical sensor setups.
  • You are a good communicator and you can do that in English.
  • You are good in presenting, since you will give demo’s and trainings to key-users of customers.
  • You are customer focused and good in maintaining relationships with partners.
  • You like variation in your job and can multitask.
