Technical Product Designer

What you’ll do

You will contribute to better and safer roads and vehicles by creating innovative products for industry, road construction, surveyors and automotive companies.  You will also be at the cradle of the next generation of solid-state LiDARs.
In close collaboration with electronics and optical engineers you will be doing the mechanical design of Lidar products and systems.
You take pride in making cost-effective, highly integrated, thermally well-managed sensors.
You define tolerances and select production techniques.
You will interact with suppliers.
You are hands-on to assist with building first units and to prepare for volume production.
You will be involved in customer projects and in the integration of our products into vehicles. 

 What you’ll need  

• You have been a member of a product development team for at least 5 years, preferably related to opto-electronic systems. 
• You have good knowledge of materials and production techniques. 
• You are an experienced SolidWorks user. 
• You are hands-on and able to help physically bring your design to life. 
• You live at reasonable (driving) distance from Leuven. 
• You can work in an independent way, while having the spirit of a team player. 
• You can present recommendations and/or products you have designed. 
• You are passionate about your professional career and your technical skills. 
• You have a technical degree, preferably in Applied Sciences, Industrial Sciences or Product Design.

For the Automotive (ADAS and AD) applications and Industrial markets, XenomatiX offers true-solid-state LiDAR systems, with focus on performance, size and cost.
