
Computer Vision Engineer
Developing 3d vision together
What you’ll do
As a member of our team, you will be working on the software part of 3D sensor vision solutions. The outcome of your work will be presented to customers worldwide.
- Being an experienced computer vision engineer, you will further develop and integrate the software components that process 3D measurement data to digitize and interpret the scene of a moving vehicle.
- You will define, research and invent the techniques to turn measurement data into intelligence for automotive, road and industry customers.
- You will be responsible for activities related to GPS/IMU/LiDAR data synchronization, point cloud format conversion, object detection, mapping, SLAM, image processing, point cloud processing (registration/stitching, noise removal,…), filtering etc.
- You will be involved in both Research and Product Development activities. Using your skills in mathematics, vision technology and algorithm development, you will be hands-on in inventing, designing and testing our future products.
- You will work closely together with hardware engineers to create world-class technology and products that will be demonstrated in our offices in Leuven as well as in research and development centers worldwide.
What you’ll need
- You have a technical university degree, preferably in computer science, vision technology or mathematics.
- You have experience with optical products, computer vision, 3D technology.
- You are familiar with signal, image and point cloud processing, point cloud registration and mapping, camera calibration, pose estimation, 2D/3D transformation, sensor fusion,…
- You have a strong mathematical background (geometry, linear algebra).
- You have solid experience in Python, Matlab and OpenCV and with mapping frameworks like GTSAM, G2O or similar.
- You have good, hands-on knowledge and experience in Geodetic/Geocentric coordinate system conversion.
- You have at least some basic experience with C++
- Experience with Qt and/or AI is a plus
- You live at a reasonable (driving) distance from Leuven.
- You can work in an independent way while having the spirit of a team player.
